AG LANDRY: The People of Louisiana Are Resilient!!!!

Hurricane Ida was brutally destructive. From Galliano to Bogalusa, LaPlace to Hammond, and everywhere in between - our neighbors have been devastated. Many are in need of shelter, water, power, and more - especially prayers.

My office and I have begun working with local officials to help how we can. This will be a long process. It is my hope that the federal government will assist our hurricane victims - those from Ida this week and Laura from last year as well.

I just got back from down the bayou. Lafourche and Terrebonne officials are working hard to search for those in need and to clear the roads.

For those who want to return from evacuation or those who want to help their loved ones there, now is NOT the time to go. Monitor local media and social media for the green light.

The people of Louisiana are resilient; we always have been. Together, we will get through this.

Attorney General Jeff Landry Urges Supreme Court To Overturn Roe V Wade

IMG_2437.jpeg

BATON ROUGE, LA - Attorney General Jeff Landry recently joined Louisiana to a coalition of 24 states filing a legal brief at the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Mississippi’s law banning abortions after 15 weeks. The amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization argues that Roe v. Wade should be overturned because it has no basis in the Constitution.

“I will never waver in my defense of the unborn,” said Attorney General Landry. “And I will always support a state's right to protect the unborn and their mothers.”

Attorney General Landry’s brief submits that Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood were wrongly decided and are the cause of inconsistent rulings and differing jurisprudence.

CITIZENS FOR LOUISIANA JOB CREATORS: Landry Wins Landmark Opioid Settlement!

IMG_2437.jpeg

Last week Attorney General Jeff Landry announced a historic $26 billion agreement with the nation’s three major pharmaceutical distributors over the opioid epidemic. It is expected to help bring much-needed relief to families throughout Louisiana struggling with opioid addiction.

On the day of the settlement, the AG said it was a “great day in our fight to hold accountable those who have stoked the fire of the opioid crisis.”

The agreement resolves investigations and litigation with Cardinal, McKesson, AmerisourceBergen, and Johnson & Johnson over the companies’ roles in creating and fueling the opioid epidemic. The agreement also requires significant industry changes that will help prevent this type of crisis from happening again.

After all the damage that has been done to innocent patients by these companies, it’s only right that they settle with the victims. This crisis has severely impacted our state and we’re glad that AG Landry is standing up for us! Louisiana is expected to receive more than $325 million in relief for Opioid survivors and Jeff Landry is committed to making sure that money goes to those in need of treatment.

“It is our objective that every nickel of this settlement goes to treating those in need – mitigating the damage done to our citizens. We will continue working with the legal representatives of the political subdivisions involved in this litigation to make this happen.”
- AG Jeff Landry

Thank you to Jeff Landry for fighting back against the Opioid Epidemic! He put these companies in their place and is giving back to the victims of this crisis.

AG Jeff Landry has WON round one with the Biden Administration!

A federal judge has sided with the Republican AG in his effort to save the oil and gas industry against the liberal federal overreach of the Biden administration.

In March, AG Landry filed suit outlining the unconstitutionality of the suspension of new oil and gas leases on federal land and water - a move that has driven up gas prices and endangered thousands of critical oil and gas jobs.

While the battle to stop Biden and his SOCIALIST ATTACK on Industry, Louisiana can be very proud of AG Landry and all he is doing to protect the oil and gas industry in Louisiana.

Biden and the Democrats will stop at nothing to tear down everything that conservatives like President Trump and Jeff Landry have done for our nation.

We're just glad that AG Landry is fighting them every step of the way!

Federal judge blocks Biden's pause on new oil, gas leases

IMG_2437.jpeg

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty's ruling came in a lawsuit filed in March by Louisiana Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry and officials in 12 other states. Doughty said his ruling applies nationwide. It grants a preliminary injunction — technically a halt to the suspension pending further arguments on the merits of the case.

Louisiana joins Texas, Mississippi in filing suit against federal government over American Rescue Plan

“In exchange for badly needed funds to assist the States of Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana and their citizens in recovering from the ongoing pandemic – the American Rescue Plan Act attempts to obligate these states to exercise their core sovereign power of taxation in the way the federal government prefers,” said Attorney General Landry. “Specifically, the Act prohibits the states from reducing net tax revenue on pain of forfeiting up to billions of dollars in federal funding.”

A copy of the suit may be found here.

What The Liberal Press Wants to Distract You From Regarding Jeff Landry’s Press Conference Yesterday

Attorney General Jeff Landry called a press conference yesterday in regards to his actions taken in the handling of the sexual harassment case against a former Criminal Division Manager, Pat Magee.

The liberal media in the State of Louisiana has tried to portray a rampant sexual harassment environment in the Dept. of Justice. The blatant biased reporting does not and will not report that not one allegation has been made against Landry, that a majority of his key directors are female and that leaders throughout his organization are female.

The above video, approximately 20 minutes in, highlights the below takeaways, containing shocking information about a longtime staffer, who was working in his position prior to Landry’s arrival.

  • Who has been leading the HR issues at the Department of Justice? Landry was joined at the presser by 4 women who lead the litigation and HR divisions which have handled the recent allegations of sexual harassment and the Advocate’s lawsuits.

  • Who was / is behind the complaint claiming there are sexual harassment issues in the Landry office: The complaining employee against former Director Pat Magee was a man, himself a high ranking officer in the same Division.

  • What is the truth behind the Advocate’s reporting: Sandra Schober, deputy director of Landry’s administrative services division, stated that the complaint contained many inaccuracies – including the most salacious that the Advocate reported. One, a woman claiming she could not have a particular office due to Magee’s advances actually did not meet the qualifications for the space and the complaining employee knew it – knew it was against policy because he himself was a high ranking officer – and put her there anyway and then later claimed Magee removed her for other reasons. Two, the woman to allegedly was not given a promotion or important assignment due to Magee sexism was actually under investigation for violating office procedures and was not qualified for the appointment – something the complainant already knew. The reporting employee knew for a fact, due to his position, that the actions Mr. Magee took were in line either with previously stated policy or were in line with issues already known by my office regarding those individuals.

  • Was there sexual harassment in the office? Sandra stated that with these factors and a lack of any other evidence, the outside investigation determined no sexual harassment.

  • The hyped up WBRZ TV news interview with the voice altered, and image blacked out DOJ employee? Sandra Schober announced that the salacious TV news report where another woman whose face was blacked out claimed she was never interviewed was false. The woman was interviewed, by Sandra herself. All information was included in the report. Any claim that her voice was not heard: false.

  • Why the Advocate lawsuit? Angelique Freel, Director of the Civil Division, announced it was her decision to sue the Advocate because the Advocate threatened to sue the Department. Said it was to protect Constitutional rights and to follow the law. Noted the Judge praised the Departments decision.

  • AG Landry announced: More recently, we received additional disturbing information concerning a high-level member of the Criminal Division. This high level employee had a duty and obligation to report concerns at the moment he had encountered them, not months or years after the fact. He knew there was a policy which required him to report any inappropriate comments or actions by employees.

  • Landry stated we obtained evidence that this high-level employee, who had been with the department prior to my arrival, engaged in inappropriate and unprofessional communication that is sexist in nature, with and about DOJ employees and third-parties.

  • THEN THIS LANDRY STATED --- >>> Additionally I was shocked to learn that this employee, who is an attorney, was the subject of an investigation by another State Agency.

This other, outside investigation, determined the following information:

  • That this employee impersonated a high ranking state official.

  • This state official who he impersonated was a high ranking female staffer in a prior Governor’s administration.

  • This information that should have been disclosed in his personal file, but was not.

  • This outside investigation verified this information.

  • This employee created a social media account impersonating the official, according to the investigation.

  • This employee resigned during the course of our investigation of his conduct

Finally Landry announced: It is important for the media to understand that supporting documents to what we have disclosed are not being released based upon the litigious nature of this entire situation which may be initiated by current and former employees.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry Sues Biden Administration Over Oil and Gas Executive Order

The following was posted on the Facebook page of Attorney General Jeff Landry this afternoon:

⚡ BREAKING ⚡ TODAY, I ANNOUNCED I AM LEADING AN EFFORT OF MULTIPLE STATES TO SUE JOE BIDEN AND HIS ADMINISTRATION FOR STOPPING OIL AND GAS LEASES IN THE GULF. (Video link at bottom.)

The Biden Ban against energy directly impacts tens of thousands of hard working Louisianans, middle class jobs, and takes food of the tables of Louisiana families. Biden's actions are driving up the price Americans pay at the pump. And the Biden Ban harms our national security.

In the video below you will see several Louisiana leaders supporting this effort including:

President of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association Mike Moncla,

Lori LeBlanc who is Vice President of LMOGA (the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association) and Executive Director for the Gulf Economic Survival Team (GEST),

and Representative Blake Miguez, the Republican Leader of the Louisiana House.

We were joined by my Louisiana Solicitor General Liz Murrill.

The following states have joined my lawsuit filed this morning in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia.

Trump agreements seek to tie Biden's hands on immigration

Attorney General Jeff Landry of Louisiana has joined several other states in signing an agreement that limits the new President’s executive orders regarding immigration.

During the Trump administration’s final weeks, the Department of Homeland Security quietly signed agreements with at least four states that threaten to temporarily derail President Joe Biden’s efforts to undo his predecessor’s immigration policies.

The agreements say Arizona, Indiana, Louisiana and Texas are entitled to a 180-day consultation period before executive branch policy changes take effect. The Biden administration rejects that argument on grounds that immigration is solely the federal government’s responsibility under the Constitution.

More on Landry’s actions regarding this agreement:

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican, signed an agreement on Dec. 15 to “stem the tide of illegal immigration,” spokesman Cory Dennis said.

“While some may attempt to blur the lines, there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration, and it is important to recognize that,” he said. “Our office will continue to be a watchdog for any changes to immigration policies that may be detrimental to the people of Louisiana.”

Louisiana Citizens for Job Creators: AG Landry turns on Friday Night Lights

AG Landry is used to celebrating victories in the court room, but recently, he has taken his wins to the football field!

Late last month AG Landry sent a letter to LHSAA Executive Director Eddie Bonine addressing concerns regarding allowing high school football to proceed this fall. Additionally, AG Landry was instrumental in the recent legislative hearing of the House of Representatives Education Committee where this very topic was addressed. Thanks to the efforts of AG Landry, it was announced that the Friday Night Lights are going to shine bright this fall!

High School Football is BACK!

Thank you AG Landry for fighting for Louisianians right to play high school sports! This is so much more than a game, being able to play gives students opportunities that otherwise they wouldn't have-- just ask former LSU Quarterback Joe Burrow-

Louisiana Citizens for Job Creators: AG Landry Supports Firehouse BBQ

Earlier this week, Attorney General Jeff Landry submitted an Amicus Brief in support of Firehouse BBQ’s case against the Governor’s Mask Mandate!

As we’ve seen during this crisis, some of our politicians are willing to exert their power in any way they see fit while some seek to strike a balance between constitutional rights and public health.

Landry has proven, time after time, that our basic constitutional rights are his chief concern when it comes to restrictions on our life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Our founders wrote the Bill of Rights for a reason and last we checked, there isn't an amendment that says “all the aforementioned rights are turned off in the event of a virus.”

Jeff Landry knows the Constitution and what’s right. That’s why he’s been fighting back against any unconstitutional measures.

Here’s a quote from the brief:

This case is not about whether masks or face coverings are a good idea. It is about what the Governor and the Department of Health can do during an extended public health emergency and – importantly – how it can constitutionally do it  - Jeff Landry

We are proud of AG Landry for his efforts to defend the constitution. No politician or crisis is bigger than our principles.

We applaud Jeff Landry’s support of Firehouse BBQ with his Amicus Brief!

Louisiana AG warns violent crime in US will each 'epidemic' levels: 'There's a tipping point that's coming in this country'

In a phone interview with Fox News, Landry said that while he has tried to be tough on crime in his state, he realized years ago that in other parts of the country there were signs that crime would reach “epidemic” levels.

"When I became attorney general back in 2016, one of the first things that we tackled was we took a very proactive fight against crime," Landry said. "I predicted four and five years ago that this country was headed towards an extreme violent crime outbreak, that it was going to become an epidemic."

Louisiana Citizens for Job Creators: AG Landry Blasts Social Media Over Censorship ofAmerica's Frontline Doctors

Following the censorship of America's Frontline Doctors, AG Jeff Landry has issued a letter to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg blasting his political bias and blatant attack on free information.

AG Landry issued a scathing letter to Zuckerberg following the censorship of a group of independent doctors who came forward at a press conference to give their take on the coronavirus. The group called America’s Frontline Doctors stood up and spoke out against the disinformation being spread by the liberal media. As usual though, the moderators over at #BigTech have removed the video and struck down anyone talking about the press conference. Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook pulled down the video from all accounts sharing it and censored those uploading the video to the platform. The other big social media platforms like Twitter and YouTube followed suit in the censorship.

“It seems you and your team at Facebook choose to censor or misuse your algorithms to downplay voices on one side of the issues while failing to do so on the other,” said Landry

The letter from the Louisiana attorney general broke down exactly what happened:

“Recently, Breitbart News and others live-streamed a group of licensed American doctors who were sharing their professional medical opinions regarding COVID-19. Apparently, Facebook made a choice to limit their voices.”

Landry concluded his letter with this pointed statement:

“You can give access to all the information available on this pandemic. You can allow users to make decisions for themselves.”

We agree with AG Landry! We need to have as much information as possible and We The People deserve to be able to make decisions for ourselves.

Thanks to AG Landry for standing up to Facebook and fighting for Free Information!

Exclusive: Louisiana AG Jeff Landry Blasts Facebook Censorship of Breitbart in Letter to Zuckerberg

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry has written a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, blasting the Facebook CEO and his platform for censoring medical discussion around coronavirus, in particular the censoring of a viral Breitbart News video of a press conference with frontline doctors and a member of Congress discussing responses to the virus.

“It seems you and your team at Facebook choose to censor or misuse your algorithms to downplay voices on one side of the issues while failing to do so on the other,” said Landry.
