Personal income in Louisiana growth slowed to a 2.3 percent rate in the third quarter of this year, a smaller gain than almost every other state, newly released figures show.

The U.S. grew personal income by 4 percent, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal income includes income from labor, owning a home or business, financial assets and transfers.

Louisiana ranked 48th in the rate of growth. Mississippi, also at 2.3 percent, ranked 49th, and Missouri, at 2.1 percent, ranked 50th.

The state added $1.19 billion in personal income during the period, including $796 million in net earnings.

Farm earnings took the biggest hit in the quarter, down $101 million. Mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction fell by $75 million.

Boustany Says Democrats’ Misguided Sit-In ‘Misses the Point’

(Washington, DC) – Dr. Charles Boustany released the following statement as House Democrats held a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives to protest lack of action on gun control measures after the terrorist attack in Orlando, Florida, earlier this month.

Boustany said: “The Democrats gutted the military, tied the hands of the intelligence community, and deny the murderous nature of radical Islam, but they still blame the Constitution for terrorism. This sit-in shows the Democrats haven’t just missed the point on this issue; they’re not even playing in the same ballpark. Louisiana families have lost their jobs, their healthcare, and now their security is at risk because of the policies of this President and congressional Democrats.

“Why won’t they sit-in to lower healthcare costs, reform the tax code, and get our economy moving again? The people of Louisiana are waiting for an answer.”

Birds of a Feather Flock Together

Last evening, "conservative" Democrat John Bel Edwards appeared at a meeting in St. Tammany Parish with Karen Carter Peterson, state senator and head of the Louisiana Democrat Party.  She is also the same person that stated any criticism of Obama is paramount to racism.

Bel Edwards is no "conservative" Democrat, as evidenced in one of his recent debate performances. He has gone on record stating that he support Obama, supports Planned Parenthood while pretending to be pro-life and supports his Party, in general.

Louisiana doesn't need to fall for another sheep in wolves' clothing.  This guy is a dyed in the wool liberal Democrat, as evidenced by past statements and his "running crew", the likes of Karen Carter Peterson.  As the old saying goes, birds of a feather flock together.

LAGOP Issues Release on John Bel Edwards' Debate Performance

Jason Dore' with the Louisiana Republican Party issued the following email regarding statements made by John Bel Edwards during last night's Governor's debate in New Orleans:

Liberal John Bel Edwards exposed his true liberal self at the WDSU gubernatorial forum last night.

Here are a few of Edwards' greatest hits, for the record:

Liberal John Bel Edwards exposed his true liberal self at the WDSU gubernatorial forum last night.

Here are a few of Edwards' greatest hits, for the record:

"I SUPPORTED THE PRESIDENT." The Louisiana democrats' standard-bearer, Rep. John Bel Edwards, doubled down on his support for the liberal democrat policies of President Obama.

"THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS I AM A DEMOCRAT. I SUPPORTED THE PRESIDENT." The entire quote.

"I BELIEVE WE SHOULD LET THAT PLAY OUT AND LEARN ALL THE FACTS. ONE OF THE FACTS IS PLANNED PARENTHOOD DOES PROVIDE PREVENTATIVE HEALTH SERVICES, CANCER SCREENINGS, BREAST EXAMS, AND OTHER NEEDED HELP SERVICES. THE ONLY THING I WILL SUGGEST IS BEFORE WE CLOSE PLANNED PARENTHOOD DOWN, WE KNOW THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING ABORTIONS IN LOUISIANA..."

In supporting government funding for Planned Parenthood, John Bel Edwards used the abortion industry's often repeated, yet untrue narrative about the nature of the abortion provider's services. The fact is Planned Parenthood is currently building a $4.2 million, 8,000 square foot abortion clinic in New Orleans and does not own nor operate a single mammogram machine in the state of Louisiana.

Mitch Landrieu Leaves City to Attend Out-Of-State Functions While City Burns

New Orleans' "mayor", Mitch Landrieu, who has defied a court order to comply with the payment requirements regarding millions in back payments to firefighters, has decided to forgo a house arrest threat and attend out of state functions last week, all the while the city falls further and further into violence.

Per the NOPD Major Offense Log, several violent crimes have occurred during his time away from the city.

Keep Louisiana Working Executive Director Anthony Ramirez released the following statement:

“Never one to let important city business keep him at home—even with with a public health crisis and crime epidemic—Mayor Landrieu has left the city behind to further his own political ambition.”

“Mayor Landrieu has seemingly turned his back on the city, traveling out of state when the city needs him the most. Louisiana cannot afford to have another absent politician with a personal political agenda."

Vitter Again Urges Mayor Landrieu to Focus On Murders, Not Monuments

Vitter responds to Landrieu mass email

(Metairie, La.) – David Vitter today sent a letter to New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu urging him to unite our community by focusing on murders, not monuments. The letter is in response to a racially charged email blast by Mayor Landrieu this week.

A copy of Vitter’s letter from today is below.

September 4, 2015

The Honorable Mitch Landrieu
1300 Perdido Street
New Orleans, LA 70112

Dear Mitch:

A friend forwarded me your mass email, attached.

Really, Mitch?

I have said many times, and I repeat again, that I think you should unite our community by focusing on murders, not monuments.

114 of our fellow citizens have been murdered in New Orleans already this year.  Lester Johnson was gunned down in his driveway in New Orleans East on Wednesday morning.

Rather than taking strong, bold action on the out-of-control crime problem, however, you send out a hateful email to create a distraction and play the race card. It attacks and insults not just me, but countless concerned citizens who feel as I do. That's not leadership, it's pure political cynicism.

Wake up, Mitch. The monuments aren't murdering our family members and neighbors. Focus. Lead. Unite. Track down those who are.

Sincerely,

David Vitter

A copy of Landrieu's email from September 3rd is below:

"Yesterday, a panel of New Orleans residents on the Vieux Carré Commission took a big step towards removing the Liberty Place monument.

However, at the same time, Senator David Vitter and David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klansman, doubled down on their efforts to keep this monument, fighting to preserve the last vestiges of white supremacy rather than honoring the great diversity that defines us today.

Tell David Vitter and David Duke that this monument has no place in New Orleans.

The history of the Battle of Liberty Place monument goes back to 1874, when a group of radical ex-Confederates launched a coup against the racially-integrated Reconstruction government of Louisiana, forming a militia and storming New Orleans. The mob attacked a force made up of the integrated Metropolitan Police force and state militia and killed police officers and innocent bystanders.

In 1886, private groups erected this monument to honor the members of the White League that were killed in the Battle of Liberty Place — not the police officers or the innocent bystanders.

Why David Vitter and David Duke are defending this monument is beyond me.

Our state has always been a place that honors the lives of law enforcement officers lost in the line of duty. But this monument stands in direct contrast to those ideals.

The ideals represented in this monument never belonged in a city as great as New Orleans, where diversity is our lifeblood. It’s time we chart a future of togetherness, not division.

Sign on now to add your support in removing this monument erected in honor of those who killed police officers.

We have to make our voices heard over the noise of opponents like David Vitter and David Duke.

Let’s start by removing the Liberty Place monument.

Sincerely,

Mitch Landrieu

Thank Goodness This Nut-Job Liberal Was Never Elected President

Former Allied Commander, US General and liberal Democrat, Wesley Clark, had the following to say regarding "radicalized" and "disloyal" Americans and what should be done with them.

I wonder who these "disloyal" Americans would be in this dude's liberal mind????

So, if these people are radicalized, and they don't support the United States, and they're disloyal to the United States as a matter of principle, fine that's their right. It's our right and our obligation to segregate them from the normal community for the duration of the conflict.

I think we're going to have to increasingly get tough on this.

Another Democrat who Feels the First Amendment is Irrelevant

In the latest installment of the ongoing fight in the State of Oregon regarding a couple who owns a bakery that have refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian wedding, the state's Bureau of Labor and Industries and the Commissioner, Brad Avakian, have issued a cease and desist order regarding the couple's right to voice their opinion on same-sex marriage.  This is on top of a $135K fine that was issued by the same department.

It's one thing to ruin a family business and bankrupt them financially, but it's entirely another when you deny them freedom of speech.

Louisiana Democrats are Asking for You to Pay to Tell Mary Landrieu Goodbye

In what is turning out to be a time of reminiscing, the Louisiana Democrat Party has asked for those that are attending their annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner to drop a few dollars in order to tell Mary Landrieu goodbye.  A recent email from the Party asks for monetary donations that will go toward a special page and advertisements that will memorialize the "years of service and dedication to our state."

Let's give something to Mary for her to remember.  This one's from Moon Griffon's show here in Louisiana.

HB 326 AND HB 359 TO BE HEARD IN LOUISIANA LEGISLATIVE SESSION

The party of "stay out of my bedroom" is back with two more bills that intrude on the family and our youth here in Louisiana.

Per Louisiana Family Forum, on Wednesday, April 29, the House Education Committee will hear HB 326 and HB 359 by Rep Wesley Bishop, D-New Orleans.

HB 326 allows the Louisiana Department of Education to survey public school students in Orleans Parish (at any age level) regarding sexual practices and sexual behaviors.

HB 359 requires the teaching of “sex education” in Orleans Parish grades 7 through 12 and allows offering sex education to Orleans Parish children in grades 3 through 6. In comparison, current state law authorizes schools to offer “sex education” classes in all public schools throughout the state grades 7-12. The instruction in sex education outlined in the bill mixes abstinence education with information on contraception and condoms. It also includes positive affirmation of “sexual orientation,” “gender identity,” and alternative family structures.

Yet again, the liberals within the State are trying to push their beliefs on those that are most vulnerable, our youth.

IT'S NOT OFTEN YOU'LL GET A LIBERAL TO DEFEND A CONSERVATIVE

However, it is refreshing to see it happen when it does occur.  The debate raging over same sex marriage often reaches a vitriolic point, but when liberal commentators, journalists, etc., come together to back a conservative for his views on this subject, it is quite refreshing.

There is no reason that a debate cannot take place over a variety of topics without resorting to the most sordid of measures.  This piece is one of those that shows real debate can and should still take place.

HERE ARE THE 10 RINO'S THAT VOTED FOR LORETTA LYNCH

In yet another move that shows how little the Republican Party thinks of the new majority that they hold in the US Senate, 10 spineless Senators from the GOP have rolled over and rubber stamped the second coming of Eric Holder.  Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Sen. Orrin Hatch (R- UT), Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL),Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), Sen Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) have sold out both the Republican Party and the people that have put them in the majority that have had enough of Obama and his administration's policies.

Also, in another move, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) stood on the floor of the Senate and voiced opposition to Lynch, but failed to record a vote on the nomination when it came up.  Could this be done for political reasons in regards to his political aspirations so that there was no record of vote on such a controversial candidate?  This is not the reasons given by Cruz, but one wonders.

ANOTHER CASE OF LIBERALS TAKING THINGS TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL

You can be sure, any time a liberal has a good idea, it usually ends up having either an embarrassing or detrimental effect on our society.  This just happens to be one of the those cases where liberals have embarrassed a group of people, that being ROTC members pressured to parade around in high heels.  Sounds crazy?  Well, it is.  The great thinkers in higher education and the liberal hierarchy in the ROTC at Temple University decided that these young people ought to be made to wear red high heels in promotion of a "walk a mile in my shoes" awareness campaign highlighting sexual assault against women.

To be sure, sexual assault is an important issue that should be highlighted, but clown shows like this only degrade the ideals of raising the awareness of this issue.  And to use the military in such a fashion only shows what our leaders in higher education and the Obama administration really feel about our men and women wearing the uniform.
