Mills on Speaker Mike Johnson

I have seen numerous attacks on US House Speaker Mike Johnson in the last few weeks regarding his vote on funding the government and intelligence-driven security measures. Those attacks are short-sighted, poorly reasoned and severely lacking in context. I know Mike very well. He is an honorable man, a trustworthy leader and an engaged statesman. 

Admittedly, the circumstances America finds herself facing and the political remedies being offered are not ideal! Johnson is one of 435 votes in the US House and enjoys a single vote Republican majority. The GOP’s one-vote margin gives colorful critics like Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) enormous opportunity to find a camera with a light on or reporter trying to capture a salacious moment to opine or call attention to a lesser or unpassable measure. 

If an expulsion attempt is made, and the mainstream media would like you to believe it might be, the dissociative GOP disorder could allow a renegade GOP’er to cut a deal with opposition for a Democrat Speaker. We may actually have a Democrat-controlled House with a GOP majority…all while Iran attempts to initiate World War 3!   

I can only imagine that China, Russia and Iran, along with illegal immigrants, traffickers and terrorist plants, would be thrilled by a motion to remove the Speaker. I can further imagine that Israel, Ukraine and the rest of liberty lovers throughout the free world would simply mourn.  

Let me assure you, as one who knows Mike: he is dependable, humble and possesses the highest integrity. Besides, He was hand-selected by God as America's Daniel for this moment. Be patient; something Spirit-led is underway. We will witness the fruit of Mike’s leadership very soon!

PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR STATE, NATION, WORLD AND SPEAKER MIKE JOHNSON!

Speaker Johnson forces CBS News anchor into embarrassing admission after she tries to smear him as an 'election denier'

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R) thoroughly dismantled on Sunday CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan for attempting to paint him as an "election denier."

In the aftermath of the 2020 election, Johnson — and the majority of the House Republican caucus at the time — signed an amicus brief supporting Texas v. Pennsylvania, a lawsuit filed to the Supreme Court. The case alleged that Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, and Wisconsin had violated the Constitution because those states changed their election procedures (citing the COVID-19 pandemic as justification) through non-state legislative means.

The Supreme Court ultimately dismissed the case after finding that Texas did not have standing to sue.

But in an interview Sunday on CBS's "Face the Nation," Brennan tried to use Johnson's support for the case to smear him as an "election denier."

GOP bill ends federally funded drag queen story hour, other sexually explicit programs for kids under 10

Dozens of House Republicans proposed new legislation this week that would prohibit the use of federal funds for sexually explicit programs, such as the wave of drag shows and drag queen story hour events that have popped up across the country.

Rep. Mike Johnson’s "Stop the Sexualization of Children Act" is an attempt by the GOP to prevent taxpayers from funding events they say expose kids to sexualized themes and "radical gender theory" programs at young ages.

"The Democrat Party and their cultural allies are on a misguided crusade to immerse young children in sexual imagery and radical gender ideology," said Johnson, a Louisiana Republican who is vice chair of the House Republican Conference.

LOUISIANA FAMILY FORUM: Disney Promotes Antichrist During LSU opener

Over the weekend, Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson called attention to a deeply disturbing ad run by Disney and FX during the LSU season opener:

The shocking ending to the LSU opener was not the most disturbing part of the game last night. For me, that came during a commercial break in the second quarter when the television audience was presented with the trailer for a new FX cartoon “sitcom” entitled, “LITTLE DEMON.”

I couldn’t get to the remote fast enough to shield my 11-year-old from the preview, and I wonder how many other children were exposed to it—and how many millions more will tune in to the new series, owned and marketed by DISNEY.

The trailer included dark images of Hell, demons, and satanic imagery, and an explanation that the main character is… the Antichrist(!).

Disney provides this surreal description: “Thirteen years after being impregnated by Satan, a reluctant mother, Laura, and her Antichrist daughter, Chrissy, attempt to live an ordinary life in Delaware, but are constantly thwarted by monstrous forces, including Satan, who yearns for custody of his daughter’s soul.”

After explaining more about the dark background of the TV series, Congressman Mike Johnson concluded: 

I could write volumes this morning, and unpack pages of Bible verses here, but instead I’m just going to state the obvious: Please be careful. Our job as parents is to guard the hearts and minds of our kids. This culture has become alarmingly dark and desensitized and this is not a game. Disney and FX have decided to embrace and market what is clearly evil. STAY FAR FROM IT.

Amen, Congressman Johnson. Thank you for standing for families, our children, and for being a gospel-bearer!

JOHNSON: National Debt Is Our Greatest Crisis

The Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) newly issued long-term budget outlook ought to be required reading for members of Congress. Why? Because Congress is rushing to pass yet another big government spending and tax package, it’s obvious few have read it.

CBO does not say it in so many words, but the report brings to mind former New Jersey Gov. Richard Codey’s quip: “The good news is, we’re not bankrupt. The bad news is, we’re close.”
