Attorney General Jeff Landry: Trouble on the tracks is adding to America’s woes

The worst kept secret in American households right now is that times are tough. The cost of gas, groceries and other necessitates are rising faster than a flock of spooked ducks. Inflation, supply chain issues and government failures have forced too many families to choose between fuel or food.

Exacerbating the problem is freight railroads failing to deliver. What once were affordable and dependable links in the critical supply chains, freight railroads are now expensive and unreliable clogs derailing any hope of a break for family budgets. Their service to manufacturers, farmers, and refineries with consumers across America has made building materials, food and fuel more costly — and in some cases — even scarce.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry announces bipartisan call for GoFundMe transparency

“GoFundMe's actions against the Freedom Convoy earlier this year brought to light an extreme lack of transparency in their policies,” Landry stated in a news release. “Big Tech platforms such as these must be held accountable and not be allowed to hide behind arbitrary standards that allow them to pick and choose ‘worthy’ causes."

According to their website, GoFundMe has served more than 50 million donors and helped organizers raise more than $5 billion since it launched in 2010.

AG Jeff Landry Praises Parents Who Filed Legal Challenge to Draconian Edicts

“Parents and guardians – not government bureaucrats – should make medical decisions for their children. And thanks to the legal challenge by families who had enough of the madness in the Crescent City, today is finally the end to the attacks on personal freedom in New Orleans. I again applaud the parents in the case and look forward to continue fighting with them to ensure the government at any level does not force medical procedures on citizens.”

Group of Republican State AGs Call for DHS Secretary to Resign

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry signed off on this letter; a copy of the document can be found here.

The lawmakers cited the amount of fentanyl seized at the border starting when Mayorkas took office until December 2021, claiming it was enough to “kill every man, woman, and child in our country SIX TIMES over – an increase of over 30 percent since before you took office.”

They also cited an uptick in sex offenders arrested entering the country last year, as well as falling deportation numbers since 2020.

“Americans have died because of your failure to obey the law and do your solemn duty. More Americans will unnecessarily die and suffer for as long as you remain as Secretary,” the attorneys general wrote. “You must resign immediately.”

The letter’s signatories included attorneys general of: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Montana, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah and West Virginia.

LANDRY: School Vaccine Mandates Are ILLEGAL!

Louisiana Citizens for Job Creators sent out this email regarding a hearing on the vaccine mandate for COVID for Louisiana students:

This morning AG Jeff Landry testified before the Louisiana Legislature in defense of our states laws. He told the House Health and Welfare Committee that "the proposed rule that LDH plans to promulgate—adding the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required immunizations for school entry—is not permitted under existing law."

He went on to say that if the state were to continue down the path set forth by the Governor, we would be joining the radical leftist state of California where personal freedom only applies to those wishing to have an abortion.

Landry made a convincing plea that the legislature support the rights of Louisiana citizens.

"I am asking you to take back the police powers of the state, and stop this vaccine mandate. We cannot allow an Executive Branch agency to bypass the constitutional responsibilities of the Legislature by allowing it to create policy and law by use of an executive rule. "

We're proud of Attorney General Landry standing up in support of parents and families knowing what is best for their children!

Federal Judge Blocks COVID Vaccine Mandate for Healthcare Workers Challenged by Jeff Landry

Judge Terry Doughty of the Monroe division of the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Louisiana issued the ruling blocking the mandate, which would have applied to the more than 10 million U.S. healthcare workers who are employees of facilities that take money from Medicare and Medicaid. CMS estimated that roughly 2.4 million of those workers remain unvaccinated.

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and the attorneys general of 13 other states sued the Biden administration over the rule earlier this month.

Landry: Oil and Gas Lease Sale Could Deliver $100M to Louisiana

“Lease sales generate millions and millions of dollars dedicated to environmental protection projects,” Landry said in a news release.

Landry led a coalition of 13 states that sued the administration after President Joe Biden suspended new leases for oil-and-gas drilling and fracking on federal lands and waters upon taking office in January.

A federal judge sided with Landry in June, allowing lease sales to continue while the issue remains in litigation.

Louisiana Citizens for Job Creators: AG BEATS BIDEN: Landry WINS Big For Louisiana Jobs!

Jeff Landry is at it again!

After Biden illegally halted the sale of Oil & Gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico, our state's Attorney General swooped into action. He instantly sued the Biden Administration for their overreach and ABUSE of Presidential Power! After a hard fought battle in court, today a Federal Court ruled in favor of Landry and allowed the lease sale to go through!

This is a win for our state, our nation, and job creators across the country who work every day to provide goods and services.

“Despite Joe Biden’s aggressive, reckless abuse of Presidential power to ban domestic energy development – we have delivered a victory for American families suffering from the pain at the pump and the cost to power their homes,” - Attorney General Jeff Landry

Joe Biden may not understand the importance of the Oil & Gas industry to hardworking, everyday Americans, but it's good to see that Jeff Landry does!

Thank you to AG Jeff Landry for giving Louisiana another WIN!

“As the leader of the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness,” General Landry wrote. “I urge you to make this an immediate priority. I also urge you to put immediate pressure on the White House and FEMA to get temporary housing units into these impacted Parishes now, rather than weeks from now.”

AG LANDRY: The People of Louisiana Are Resilient!!!!

Hurricane Ida was brutally destructive. From Galliano to Bogalusa, LaPlace to Hammond, and everywhere in between - our neighbors have been devastated. Many are in need of shelter, water, power, and more - especially prayers.

My office and I have begun working with local officials to help how we can. This will be a long process. It is my hope that the federal government will assist our hurricane victims - those from Ida this week and Laura from last year as well.

I just got back from down the bayou. Lafourche and Terrebonne officials are working hard to search for those in need and to clear the roads.

For those who want to return from evacuation or those who want to help their loved ones there, now is NOT the time to go. Monitor local media and social media for the green light.

The people of Louisiana are resilient; we always have been. Together, we will get through this.

Attorney General Jeff Landry Urges Supreme Court To Overturn Roe V Wade

IMG_2437.jpeg

BATON ROUGE, LA - Attorney General Jeff Landry recently joined Louisiana to a coalition of 24 states filing a legal brief at the U.S. Supreme Court in support of Mississippi’s law banning abortions after 15 weeks. The amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization argues that Roe v. Wade should be overturned because it has no basis in the Constitution.

“I will never waver in my defense of the unborn,” said Attorney General Landry. “And I will always support a state's right to protect the unborn and their mothers.”

Attorney General Landry’s brief submits that Roe v. Wade and Casey v. Planned Parenthood were wrongly decided and are the cause of inconsistent rulings and differing jurisprudence.

CITIZENS FOR LOUISIANA JOB CREATORS: Landry Wins Landmark Opioid Settlement!

IMG_2437.jpeg

Last week Attorney General Jeff Landry announced a historic $26 billion agreement with the nation’s three major pharmaceutical distributors over the opioid epidemic. It is expected to help bring much-needed relief to families throughout Louisiana struggling with opioid addiction.

On the day of the settlement, the AG said it was a “great day in our fight to hold accountable those who have stoked the fire of the opioid crisis.”

The agreement resolves investigations and litigation with Cardinal, McKesson, AmerisourceBergen, and Johnson & Johnson over the companies’ roles in creating and fueling the opioid epidemic. The agreement also requires significant industry changes that will help prevent this type of crisis from happening again.

After all the damage that has been done to innocent patients by these companies, it’s only right that they settle with the victims. This crisis has severely impacted our state and we’re glad that AG Landry is standing up for us! Louisiana is expected to receive more than $325 million in relief for Opioid survivors and Jeff Landry is committed to making sure that money goes to those in need of treatment.

“It is our objective that every nickel of this settlement goes to treating those in need – mitigating the damage done to our citizens. We will continue working with the legal representatives of the political subdivisions involved in this litigation to make this happen.”
- AG Jeff Landry

Thank you to Jeff Landry for fighting back against the Opioid Epidemic! He put these companies in their place and is giving back to the victims of this crisis.

AG Jeff Landry has WON round one with the Biden Administration!

A federal judge has sided with the Republican AG in his effort to save the oil and gas industry against the liberal federal overreach of the Biden administration.

In March, AG Landry filed suit outlining the unconstitutionality of the suspension of new oil and gas leases on federal land and water - a move that has driven up gas prices and endangered thousands of critical oil and gas jobs.

While the battle to stop Biden and his SOCIALIST ATTACK on Industry, Louisiana can be very proud of AG Landry and all he is doing to protect the oil and gas industry in Louisiana.

Biden and the Democrats will stop at nothing to tear down everything that conservatives like President Trump and Jeff Landry have done for our nation.

We're just glad that AG Landry is fighting them every step of the way!

Federal judge blocks Biden's pause on new oil, gas leases

U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty's ruling came in a lawsuit filed in March by Louisiana Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry and officials in 12 other states. Doughty said his ruling applies nationwide. It grants a preliminary injunction — technically a halt to the suspension pending further arguments on the merits of the case.

Louisiana joins Texas, Mississippi in filing suit against federal government over American Rescue Plan

“In exchange for badly needed funds to assist the States of Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana and their citizens in recovering from the ongoing pandemic – the American Rescue Plan Act attempts to obligate these states to exercise their core sovereign power of taxation in the way the federal government prefers,” said Attorney General Landry. “Specifically, the Act prohibits the states from reducing net tax revenue on pain of forfeiting up to billions of dollars in federal funding.”

A copy of the suit may be found here.
