The Republican Party of Louisiana Formally Endorses Congressman Clay Higgins for Re-Election

BATON ROUGE- The Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Louisiana unanimously endorsed Congressman Clay Higgins for re-election on Monday. 

Congressman Higgins continues to be a strong conservative and outspoken voice for Louisianans. His work to support American energy production, the 2nd Amendment, free market principles and a secure southern border have been pivotal to putting America and Louisiana on the right path forward.

The LAGOP urges the voters of the 3rd Congressional District to support Congressman Clay Higgins on November 8th.

"I'm humbled and uplifted to receive the endorsement of Republicans across Louisiana, to have our Congressional office recognized for dedicated service. We will not stop fighting for Constitutionalist and Conservative values. Our mission to serve the citizens of South Louisiana shall continue," said Congressman Clay Higgins.

Peterson pushed Edwards campaign, Democratic Party to work with firms in fraud scheme

Karen Carter Peterson pushed for the Louisiana Democratic Party to award a contract worth tens of thousands of dollars to a New Orleans political consulting firm just a few weeks before the 2019 primary election for governor. That’s according to the state party’s executive director at the time, who says he questioned Peterson, then the party chair, before learning Gov. John Bel Edwards’ campaign was OK with the deal.

Louisiana Abortion Ban Case Heard Before Judge

Landry, in a filing last week, argued that the law “needs only to delineate what is illegal — not define what is legal.”

Nothing Curative About Dems Inflation, Higher Taxes and Prices

Congressional Democrats are one step closer to passing their trillion-dollar "Build Back Better" spending package.

On July 6 U.S. Senate leaders hashed out a key proposal that would allow Medicare to "negotiate" with pharmaceutical companies over prescription drug prices.

The effort is part of Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer's, D- N.Y., drive to coax centrist Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., into voting for the huge spending bill.

But what Democrats are contemplating is actually a de facto system of price controls — and it would destroy the market for drug research.

Biden's Saudi trip won't help gas prices

President Joe Biden is set to visit Saudi Arabia later this week, on a trip he says is intended to shore up global supply chains and encourage diplomacy and cooperation.

But the question many are asking is: What could it mean for gas prices?

That’s because Saudi Arabia has the second-largest oil reserves in the world — and the U.S. has made it clear it wants all the Persian Gulf's oil states to boost their output. The conventional wisdom is that more oil produced means cheaper gas at the pump.

The reality is more complicated.

Karen Carter Peterson expected to plead guilty to gambling with campaign, Dem party funds

Peterson, an outspoken champion of liberal causes, had been a state senator for 12 years before her resignation earlier this year, and before that she spent a decade in the House. She lost a 2021 congressional race to U.S. Rep. Troy Carter.

If Peterson acknowledges steering money intended for the struggling Louisiana Democratic Party to her own use, it will add considerably to the controversy around her eight-year tenure as party chair, from 2012 to 2020.

Veto Override Session Will Not Take Place in Louisiana

Louisiana State Trooper Pulls Over Head of State Police; No Citation Issued

The head of Louisiana State Police (LSP) was stopped for speeding along a dangerous stretch of a Louisiana interstate last month, a state police spokesman confirmed Thursday, July 7.

Col. Lamar Davis was driving an unmarked Louisiana State Police vehicle to a meeting in Lake Charles when an LSP trooper pulled him over on June 28 on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge along Interstate 10 near Ramah.

SCALISE: Joe Biden Should Not Be Sending Oil to China

“The Biden administration sold roughly one million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to a Chinese state-controlled gas giant that continues to purchase Russian oil, a move the Energy Department said would ‘support American consumers’ and combat ‘Putin’s price hike,'” the Beacon’s Collin Anderson reported. “Biden’s Energy Department in April announced the sale of 950,000 Strategic Petroleum Reserve barrels to Unipec, the trading arm of the China Petrochemical Corporation. That company, which is commonly known as Sinopec, is wholly owned by the Chinese government.”

Sinopec is also tied to Hunter Biden, whose private equity firm, BHR Partners, bought a $1.7 billion stake in the company seven years ago.
