Lafourche Parish Republican Committee Endorses Blake Miguez Ahead of Election Day

LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. — State Sen. Blake Miguez announced Sunday morning that he has received the endorsement of the Lafourche Republican Parish Executive Committee as Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District campaign enters its final day before Election Day.

Miguez announced the endorsement in a social media post Sunday.

“Honored to have the endorsement of the Lafourche Republican Parish Executive Committee,” Miguez wrote.

The endorsement gives Miguez additional local Republican support as candidates make their final push for votes across the newly configured congressional district.

Miguez, a New Iberia Republican, currently represents Senate District 22 in the Louisiana Legislature. He was elected to the state Senate in 2023 after previously serving in the Louisiana House of Representatives.

The Louisiana Republican Party has endorsed both Miguez and fellow state Sen. Rick Edmonds in the 6th District contest.

Miguez has also picked up support from parish-level Republican organizations during the campaign, including an endorsement announced by the St. John the Baptist Parish Republican Executive Committee in September.

The Lafourche endorsement arrives during the closing hours of a crowded congressional campaign involving candidates from both major parties as well as a Libertarian candidate.

Miguez said Sunday that his campaign would continue working for votes in Lafourche Parish and throughout the district through Election Day.

Louisiana voters will cast ballots Tuesday, Nov. 3.
