How Many US GOM Jobs Could Go Under Biden?
If U.S. President Joe Biden’s pause on new oil and natural gas leases in offshore waters becomes permanent, the effect on the U.S. Gulf of Mexico workforce would be considerable.
That’s what’s shown by the National Ocean Industries Association’s (NOIA) latest projections, which were prepared by Energy & Industrial Advisory Partners. According to these figures, which assume that no new lease sales would be held from 2022, Gulf of Mexico offshore oil and natural gas supported employment would decline by almost 200,000 jobs over the next two decades, compared to a base case figure.

Letters: Exemptions help Louisiana lure projects, recover and prosper
It is no secret that our state’s economy is vulnerable and hurting. You do not have to look too far to see businesses closing their doors and industry running for higher ground — mainly to higher ground in Texas.
At this pivotal moment in history, we in Louisiana should be doing all that we can to support companies wanting to stay in and invest in Louisiana. Major companies like Exxon-Mobil, Marathon Oil and Folgers Coffee to name a few are trying to do just this.
But instead they are being met with a headwind trying to derail their investments into our state. These headwinds come from extremist environmental groups like the Louisiana Bucket Brigade and Together Louisiana and I am seriously concerned with the inflated influence and power they seem to have been granted publicly.

LOGA Interim President's Column
By: Mike Moncla
LOGA Interim President’s Column
The last two weeks have put on display the things we take for granted.
The permitting moratorium, the revocation of the Keystone Pipeline, then the outright leasing ban show that the Biden Administration does not fully grasp the critical, complex role oil and natural gas play in every moment of our day to day lives.
Let’s start with the most obvious facet of life these bans jeopardize: energy security. Our attitude in America has been that energy for our homes, cars, and businesses is a right and a given. All we have to do is pull up to the pump or turn on the light switch. But the ban means a nearly 50% drop in offshore Gulf of Mexico oil production, and a 68% drop in Gulf production of natural gas.
When America makes less of that product, but still has the same demand for that product, where will we have to go for it? We will have to import oil and natural gas from other nations. That’s why the ban was quickly dubbed an “import more oil policy.” Just under a year ago, another major player in the global energy market decided to turn on the spigot and over supply the market. If Saudi Arabia, or Russia, or Iran set their sights on tanking the American family, they can. All they have to do is decide not to sell to America - or sell at a premium and wring out the ole’ USA pocketbook, just so we can fill our cars up. This is the complicated topic of energy security - and a ban makes us less secure on the global stage.
And let’s not forget that these executive actions have been taken under the guise of protecting the environment. So I’ll remind our President that America has the most stringent environmental standards in the world, and in our state, revenues generated offshore go directly to Louisiana’s coast through the GOMESA (Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act) program. In 2020, funds from offshore royalties came into Louisiana’s coffers to the tune of $155,718,470.00. Those coastal restoration dollars are now completely at risk. Let’s not forget either that the single most generous industry to coastal resilience and restoration is the oil and gas industry.
Finally, the complex, robust economy from oil and natural gas provides hundreds of thousands of jobs, support for critical community and public services, and the affordable, reliable products we rely on every moment in our day to day lives. By 2022, a ban could translate into then loss of nearly 48,000 jobs - in Louisiana alone! It’s clear to see that the loss of our industry means harm to our state’s families.
At the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association, I see that real impact every day just talking to my members. One pipe fabrication business recently told me “no new projects, no need for piping products.” Others have cited being immediately forced to do layoffs, and others simply have no demand for their services. We are watching the guillotine being readied for our already greatly battered economy.
I’m asking the Governor to stand up for our state, just as the governor in our Lone Star neighbor just did. Find every way to support our vital industry and stop these executive actions from harming our great state of Louisiana.

LOUISIANA CITIZENS FOR JOB CREATORS: Landry Addresses New Presidential Administration🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
As a top leader of Louisiana Republicans, Attorney General Jeff Landry has spoken on the incoming administration. In a statement, Landry outlined a philosophy for conservatives to use in response to the impending Liberal government:
“We all want every President to succeed when it comes to protecting our nation from foreign adversaries. However, when it comes to policies which may harm our economy, our values, or Constitutional rights we can speak up and use our voices, and offices, to push back.”
Landry is right - we all want the best for the country… it’s just that 99% of the time, Biden and his schemes will not be what’s best. That is why it is incumbent on WE THE PEOPLE to use our voices and push back!
He went on to address the millions of Trump supporters like you and me:
“For the 70,000,000+ people who supported President Trump’s policies which helped secure our borders, create a roaring economy prior to the pandemic, and protect our values; I encourage you to remind people, if they struggle under liberal policies, what they lost. We must spread a positive message to our neighbors and friends who may not have understood or have acknowledged the need for our policies why we
support a conservative vision.”
It’s good to see that Republicans are showing leadership and circling the wagons. We need to be prepared to stand up over the next 4 years and fight back against the radical liberal agenda of Co-Presidents Biden and Harris.
Landry finished his statement with this call to action for all Republicans in Louisiana and across the country.
“Republicans should be united in presenting a contrast and not play into the extreme left’s playbook. There will no doubt be struggles as the very few remaining old-line Democrats struggle with the rising socialists who fuel their party. Let’s let them participate in self-destruction as we remain united and focused on policies grounded in the Constitution and the Rule of Law.
As Attorney General of Louisiana I will remain committed to protecting the federal 10th Amendment. I will work to protect our 1st Amendment and our 2nd Amendment. I will work to protect the right to life along with our right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
Thank you AG Jeff Landry for continuing to lend your strong voice in the fight to protect our conservative values!
Trump agreements seek to tie Biden's hands on immigration
Attorney General Jeff Landry of Louisiana has joined several other states in signing an agreement that limits the new President’s executive orders regarding immigration.
During the Trump administration’s final weeks, the Department of Homeland Security quietly signed agreements with at least four states that threaten to temporarily derail President Joe Biden’s efforts to undo his predecessor’s immigration policies.
The agreements say Arizona, Indiana, Louisiana and Texas are entitled to a 180-day consultation period before executive branch policy changes take effect. The Biden administration rejects that argument on grounds that immigration is solely the federal government’s responsibility under the Constitution.
More on Landry’s actions regarding this agreement:
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry, a Republican, signed an agreement on Dec. 15 to “stem the tide of illegal immigration,” spokesman Cory Dennis said.
“While some may attempt to blur the lines, there is a difference between legal and illegal immigration, and it is important to recognize that,” he said. “Our office will continue to be a watchdog for any changes to immigration policies that may be detrimental to the people of Louisiana.”

LOGA Responds to Biden Administration Executive Actions
BATON ROUGE, LA (Jan 22, 2021) —Biden is being very clear when he kills thousands of jobs on day one of his administration.
These moratoriums intended to regulate American oil and gas companies out of business backfire by burdening main street and households everywhere. "Now more than ever people cannot afford heightened energy costs,” Mike Moncla, LOGA Interim President said. "A better approach would be to support the recovery with sustainable policies that benefit struggling Americans with affordable, reliable, American energy."
Restricting offshore development will jeopardize hundreds of thousands of jobs and billions in revenue. "A large portion of drilling activity in Louisiana is from offshore federal waters,” Moncla added. "Biden should focus on responsible offshore energy development that will aid in nation’s economic recovery."
As for the Keystone decision, energy infrastructure projects are critical for America’s economic recovery. Stopping these infrastructure projects will only ensure more emissions, not fewer.
The US is a world leader in reducing emissions thanks to American innovation and the insurgence of cleaner natural gas. “When we prohibit the US from producing American energy, but everyone still needs fuel and infinite products from oil and natural gas, we will end up importing fuel from countries that don’t have standards as high as ours,” Moncla said. “Ironically, this kind of political move to satisfy a few special interest groups will end up producing more global emissions while killing thousands of high paying American jobs.”
Hate to Tell You “Told You So”………
Thus begins the new administration’s war on the lifeblood of Louisiana, oil and gas.
Newly inaugurated President Joe Biden enacted a 60-day ban Thursday on new oil and gas drilling permits and leases for federal lands and waters, including the Gulf of Mexico.
During his campaign, Biden vowed to halt new oil and gas leasing on federal land and waters and made addressing climate change and environmental pollution a centerpiece of his platform.

Higgins Will Object to Certification of Electoral College Votes
December 31, 2020
Press Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) issued the following statement today after announcing that he will object to the certification of Electoral College votes on January 6, 2021.
“I will object to the certification of electoral votes on January 6th. Reports of voter fraud and actions by some states to alter election processes in an unlawful manner have not been properly reviewed. Evidence that a crime has been committed leads to an investigation. That standard is reasonable suspicion. Investigation into an alleged crime produces evidence either exculpatory or condemning. Investigations crossing multiple jurisdictional authorities are particularly complex and require time. Our Constitutional requirement to inaugurate a President on January 20th does not abrogate our Constitutional requirement to investigate reasonable suspicion of election fraud and violation of election laws within several of the sovereign states. I believe those actions of fraud and illegal election processes thwarted the true will of We, the People, and flipped the Presidential election to career politician Joe Biden. America is not a confederacy of states. We are a Union of States. We are a Representative Republic. Therefore, each sovereign state has a deep obligation to follow its own written election laws when that state participates in a federal election. Otherwise, the Union itself is violated, and the federal election is compromised. I warned of this prior to November 3rd, 2020. Six weeks ago, I instructed my Congressional staff to begin preparing for my formal objection to Electoral slates of several sovereign states. While the mainstream media and establishment forces want to ignore election irregularities that began coming to light in the days following the election, We, the People, will not stand idly by. For over a month now, I have been examining and researching the various allegations that have come forth, and I will take every legal and Constitutionally-available action to ensure a righteous outcome. That includes objecting to the electoral slates from disputed states. There is sufficient evidence, at a minimum, to investigate criminal acts, which may have compromised the integrity of our election. This effort and action to safeguard our election systems must continue, even beyond January 20th, 2021.”
A Personal Letter From The Chairman On The Passing of Congressman-Elect Luke Letlow
December 30, 2020
Louisiana, and indeed America, have lost a rising political star with the passing of Luke Letlow. That he was born to politics cannot be doubted. Although still a young man of forty-one, he had capably served on the staff of Congressman Bobby Jindal, then on Governor Jindal’s personal staff, and most recently as Ralph Abraham’s chief of staff.
By all accounts he had paid his dues and mastered the art of politics along the way.
His December 5th election to Congress was seen by all who knew him as a natural progression in the career of a man who actually did enjoy serving his constituents in the very best traditions of American democracy. We all expected that he would go far in politics, and quickly.
If politics can be a brutal game, Luke Letlow had a way of softening its effects on those around him. His kindly personality was an immediate clue to the man’s inherent decency and humanity. While on my way to a late night political meeting with him several years ago, I realized I was not so much preparing to endure another meeting as I was looking forward to seeing Luke again. He was that rare person you looked forward to seeing at all times and under any circumstances.
Above all, Luke must be remembered as the loving husband and father that he was. To his wife, Julia, and his two young children, Jeremiah and Jacqueline, we send our heartfelt condolences.
Luke Letlow will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May we find comfort in his memory as we draw strength from his example.

Louisiana governor: Time for people to acknowledge Biden win
You who fell for that “Honor Code” crap must be real proud of how our governor is dismissing blatant fraud with the wave of a hand:
“I’m a lawyer. I know our courts exist to resolve disputes, but the dispute needs to be real,” Edwards said on his monthly radio call-in show, in his first detailed comments about the election’s outcome.
“If there were real evidence of the kind of voter fraud that has been alleged on a scale to make a difference in the outcome … you would think that in all the weeks since Nov. 3 that they would have been able to produce some evidence of that,” he said. “Really, they haven’t produced any.”
