What The Liberal Press Wants to Distract You From Regarding Jeff Landry’s Press Conference Yesterday

Attorney General Jeff Landry called a press conference yesterday in regards to his actions taken in the handling of the sexual harassment case against a former Criminal Division Manager, Pat Magee.

The liberal media in the State of Louisiana has tried to portray a rampant sexual harassment environment in the Dept. of Justice. The blatant biased reporting does not and will not report that not one allegation has been made against Landry, that a majority of his key directors are female and that leaders throughout his organization are female.

The above video, approximately 20 minutes in, highlights the below takeaways, containing shocking information about a longtime staffer, who was working in his position prior to Landry’s arrival.

  • Who has been leading the HR issues at the Department of Justice? Landry was joined at the presser by 4 women who lead the litigation and HR divisions which have handled the recent allegations of sexual harassment and the Advocate’s lawsuits.

  • Who was / is behind the complaint claiming there are sexual harassment issues in the Landry office: The complaining employee against former Director Pat Magee was a man, himself a high ranking officer in the same Division.

  • What is the truth behind the Advocate’s reporting: Sandra Schober, deputy director of Landry’s administrative services division, stated that the complaint contained many inaccuracies – including the most salacious that the Advocate reported. One, a woman claiming she could not have a particular office due to Magee’s advances actually did not meet the qualifications for the space and the complaining employee knew it – knew it was against policy because he himself was a high ranking officer – and put her there anyway and then later claimed Magee removed her for other reasons. Two, the woman to allegedly was not given a promotion or important assignment due to Magee sexism was actually under investigation for violating office procedures and was not qualified for the appointment – something the complainant already knew. The reporting employee knew for a fact, due to his position, that the actions Mr. Magee took were in line either with previously stated policy or were in line with issues already known by my office regarding those individuals.

  • Was there sexual harassment in the office? Sandra stated that with these factors and a lack of any other evidence, the outside investigation determined no sexual harassment.

  • The hyped up WBRZ TV news interview with the voice altered, and image blacked out DOJ employee? Sandra Schober announced that the salacious TV news report where another woman whose face was blacked out claimed she was never interviewed was false. The woman was interviewed, by Sandra herself. All information was included in the report. Any claim that her voice was not heard: false.

  • Why the Advocate lawsuit? Angelique Freel, Director of the Civil Division, announced it was her decision to sue the Advocate because the Advocate threatened to sue the Department. Said it was to protect Constitutional rights and to follow the law. Noted the Judge praised the Departments decision.

  • AG Landry announced: More recently, we received additional disturbing information concerning a high-level member of the Criminal Division. This high level employee had a duty and obligation to report concerns at the moment he had encountered them, not months or years after the fact. He knew there was a policy which required him to report any inappropriate comments or actions by employees.

  • Landry stated we obtained evidence that this high-level employee, who had been with the department prior to my arrival, engaged in inappropriate and unprofessional communication that is sexist in nature, with and about DOJ employees and third-parties.

  • THEN THIS LANDRY STATED --- >>> Additionally I was shocked to learn that this employee, who is an attorney, was the subject of an investigation by another State Agency.

This other, outside investigation, determined the following information:

  • That this employee impersonated a high ranking state official.

  • This state official who he impersonated was a high ranking female staffer in a prior Governor’s administration.

  • This information that should have been disclosed in his personal file, but was not.

  • This outside investigation verified this information.

  • This employee created a social media account impersonating the official, according to the investigation.

  • This employee resigned during the course of our investigation of his conduct.

Finally Landry announced: It is important for the media to understand that supporting documents to what we have disclosed are not being released based upon the litigious nature of this entire situation which may be initiated by current and former employees.

Democrats Will Kill the Goose That Lays the Golden Vaccines

Joe Biden, Democrats want to destroy this critical partnership in the short-sighted search for a nonexistent reward.

According to The Hill, key Democrats, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (VT) and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (CT), are pressuring the United States to support a radical proposal at the World Trade Organization. They seek to strip patent protections for COVID-19 vaccines. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is also reported to have expressed support for this measure.

In other words, they want to kill the goose that lays the golden vaccines. It is hard to imagine a more destructive step for the current pandemic and future drug development.

Louisiana leaders discuss the idea of a COVID-19 vaccine passport

According to Dr. Joseph Kanter, Gov. John Bel Edwards’ office has discussed it, but he said it’s too early to make a decision.

Alanah Odoms Hebert from the Louisiana ACLU cited several concerns if this goes forward.

“The idea of a vaccine passport is something that we generally support, but there are key issues we want the public to be aware of and the government,” said Hebert.

LOUISIANA WOMEN LEAD: LETLOW’S ELECTION A CALL TO WOMEN IN LOUISIANA

At a moment in time where the state’s highest offices are rife with sexual abuse scandals, Louisiana elects first female republican to Congress

March 22, 2021 (Baton Rouge, LA) - Julia Barnhill Letlow! Let that name sink in for a moment, because soon enough we are going to start seeing it in the history books. Louisiana elected Julia Letlow as its first republican Congresswoman. She is the first in Louisiana’s history. Those of us who know Julia had no doubt that she could and would do it, but her path to victory was rather non-traditional. Most players in Louisiana’s political world ascend to positions of power by starting on a local level first, and through a series of elections ascend to higher and higher offices, perhaps finally to a larger area like a congressional district. Most of those political players tend to be men who grew up thinking about their political futures and which office they would seek. Discussions about their future tend to be with their family and are clear about their path forward. For women, especially in Louisiana, that path is not usually laid out and it certainly is not expected by our culture. That’s why Julia’s ascent to Congress is incredible in so many ways.

Julia’s husband Luke had just recently been elected to represent District 5 in Congress. As most are aware, Luke tragically passed away from COVID-19 before he was sworn in. This left a big hole for Julia especially considering that they have two very young children. In those days and weeks after Luke passed away, a decision needed to be made to fill Luke’s seat. An amazing decision was made. Julia decided to run. As I type this, it still gives me chills. Such an extraordinary person making such an extraordinary decision: A decision to show her children that through faith and her belief in Christ, we can overcome many obstacles and we can rise above the ashes like a phoenix from the flames. During one of our recent Campaign Conversations, Julia told us that you can be “Full of grief and full of hope at the same time.” Wow. If you talk to Julia, you pick up on how extraordinary she is right away. We should celebrate this characteristic. But in true Louisiana political fashion, not everyone could see the extraordinary picture.

There were the at-first-quiet, and then very public comments criticizing that Julia shouldn’t be running because of her young children. Let me ask a question: Are these comments made when men run for office? In Julia’s distinctive grace, she brushed those comments off and leaned on her faith knowing she made a decision after many discussions and much thoughtful prayer.

If you take a moment to consider reality, telling someone else when to run for office or not and why (especially based on the private matters of their family!) is inappropriate. But thanks to the 24-hour news cycle, the endless scroll of social media, and our cancel culture, we believe we have a right to an opinion about everyone else’s decisions, and that it’s our right to be offended when we disagree. And Louisiana culture typically disagrees with center-right women in office in Louisiana.

This opinionated, offended posture is part of our culture that we must take on in our state. Women belong in all of the places where decisions are made. Why? For one, the headlines should make you sick.  Louisiana is home to a deeply flawed and pervasive culture not with just your run-of-the-mill misogyny, but we have now seen rampant cases of sexual harassment and abuse at the highest levels in our state. This scandal occurs daily on college campuses and political offices and those in office are using their power to cover it up!

Do you know what that means? It means several people are sitting in a room together and making a conscious decision to collude on the cover-up. To not protect the victims and prosecute the criminals, but to protect the perpetrator. Only in Louisiana. It’s a despicable and disgusting part of our culture in this state and it has to stop. To boot, we have heard other women state that the victims share the responsibility in these sexual harassment and abuse cases. This mindset belongs back in the 1950s. It needs to be brought to light and shown for the ignorance that it is then buried so deeply that we never hear those words uttered again.

The solution? To get power in the hands of the right decision-makers, including center-right women, who will stand up for justice instead of protecting perpetrators. But that can’t happen unless more women run for office. So this is my clarion to all the women of Louisiana…it is time for us all to stand up. Stand up for our sisters, mothers, and daughters. Stand up for our brothers, husbands, fathers, and sons. Those of us who can, must stand up and take extraordinary steps. Amazing steps. Answer the call just as Julia Barnhill Letlow did. As Julia said, we can be full of frustration, anger, or grief for our state and full of hope at the same time. Decide where you fit in the political world and take the step to do more, to get involved, to run for office. Make history! Be extraordinary. Be the next Julia!

Louisiana Women Lead was formed in 2020 to engage more center-right women in politics. Lead’s goal is to increase the number of women elected or appointed to leadership positions in Louisiana by breaking down barriers, create a statewide network for support, and provide tools to women so they have a leg up when running for or being appointed to office. The Government Didn’t Create the COVID-19 Vaccines

President Joe Biden recently toured a Pfizer plant in Kalamazoo, Mich., where workers are churning out millions of lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine doses.

During his remarks, he mentioned that in mid-February he had “toured the Vaccine Research Center at the National Institutes of Health . . . [where] I met world-class doctors, scientists, and researchers who were critical for discovering the vaccines in record time.”

Frankly, the president is giving the government too much credit.

AG Jeff Landry Joins Lawsuit Over Keystone Pipeline

IMG_3376.jpeg

Jeff Landry, Louisina Attorney General, issued the below release via Facebook today regarding Biden’s executive order related to the Keystone Pipeline.

BREAKING: I HAVE JOINED 21 OTHER STATES IN A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION FOR CANCELING THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE. In the blink of an eye Joe Biden has unleashed a flood of action to destroy our oil and gas industry, raise gas prices, and harm thousands of energy jobs. The Biden Keystone order not only violates federal law and Constitutional safeguards, but also threatens jobs, our state and local economies, and even the environment he purports to want to protect. It should concern every person that the price of gas started going up the day he picked up his pen and began threatening financial stability for the hard-working people of Louisiana. Just as I have done since first being elected to public office, including when I sat in Congress reminding then President Obama that DRILLING=JOBS, I will not back down against illegal and misguided attempts by the Biden Administration to harm our energy jobs.

This Is Why The LAGOP Can't Have Nice Things

With a conservative Republican, Claston Bernard, being kept from a televised debate on WWL, the latest slap in the face comes with the Republican Jefferson Parish President, Cynthia Lee Sheng endorsing one of his Democratic challengers for the 2nd Congressional District race.

Lee Sheng has endorsed candidate Troy Carter.

“Troy’s always been accessible and easy to work with,” said Lee Sheng, a Republican, noting that Carter’s Algiers-centered district includes a portion of Jefferson Parish’s west bank. “I have not had an opportunity to work with Karen,” she added -- although a small portion of Peterson’s district extends into the east bank of Jefferson Parish.

It’s been said before and worth reiterating. The GOP will end up screwing up everything they put their hands to.

Louisiana ranks last among 'best' U.S. states for economy; education

Contrary to his opinion, the “Honor Code” Governor of the State of Louisiana has accomplished squat in the past 5 years of his administration, other than spending federal money, killing oil and gas and taxing the crap out of the citizens of this state.

Louisiana ranked No. 50 among the best states in a U.S. News and World Report survey  that explored eight categories ranging from the economy to education.

The state has consistently ranked near the bottom for years.

The Consequences of Price Controls for Patients

2021 could be a bad year for patients in the United States.

Lawmakers have resumed their fight to pass sweeping price controls that would limit access to treatment and crush medical innovation—the same innovation that delivered COVID-19 vaccines in record time and faster than any country in the world.

Using a tricky Senate procedure called reconciliation, Senators need only 51 votes to implement Medicare price controls once the House drafts new legislation that builds off of Speaker Pelosi’s failed bill, H.R. 3, the Lower Drug Costs Now Act.

Proponents of this legislation tout billions in savings over the next decade, but usually fail to mention how many fewer drugs would come to market—up to 40, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office—and what this would mean for health plans for most Americans.
