Jeff Landry Officially Launches Campaign for Louisiana Governor
LAFAYETTE, LA — Today, Jeff Landry officially launched his campaign for Governor of Louisiana. In his video announcement, Landry shares his life story and starts a conversation with Louisiana voters about the problems facing our state and ways we can join together to fix them.
“We deserve a government as good as our people, and we’re not getting it,” Landry explained. “During my life, I have walked in the very shoes of people who struggle more than they should in a state as blessed as this one. We must join together to build the Louisiana we want, our neighbors need, and our children deserve.”
In the announcement video, Landry shares his personal history, not only as a former Congressman and current Attorney General, but growing up working in the sugar cane fields, serving our nation in uniform, and our communities as a police officer and Sheriff’s Deputy. Landry also discusses the need to tackle crime that has gripped Louisiana’s major cities and places the blame on failed local leadership driven by “woke” district attorneys.
“To the people in those cities, we care about you. We know you are good people living with a bad government. Your family deserves a safe neighborhood because when you hurt, our entire state hurts,” Landry added.
Landry also took time to highlight the crisis in our local schools where our children are pulled into social culture wars to score political points instead of being taught the basics, like reading, writing, and arithmetic.
“I believe the most important voice in a child’s education is the parents,” Landry said. “As the son of a schoolteacher, I think it’s a sin that, right now, seventy-four percent of our fourth graders can’t read the way they should, and nearly eighty percent of our eighth graders can’t do basic math. I’m angry that our children’s education isn’t a priority.”
Over the weeks and months to come, while continuing his service as Louisiana’s Attorney General, Landry will tour the state to meet with voters and local leaders to discuss their vision for Louisiana’s future.
KENNEDY: Democrats and White House Started the Defund and Disrespect the Police Movement
Sen. John Kennedy, LA, has been a vocal critic of the Biden administration and Democrats, in general, regarding the “defunding the police” movement. Just last month, his office released the following:
WASHINGTON – Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) today addressed rising crime rates Americans are experiencing in the wake of Pres. Biden’s soft-on-crime policies.
Kennedy outlined the four steps needed to reduce crime in Louisiana and American communities:
- Hire more police officers.
- Keep police officers on the force.
- Get rid of prosecutors whose attitude is, “Hear no evil. See no evil. Prosecute no evil.”
- Stop disrespecting the police.
Key excerpts from Kennedy’s statement include:
“Long term, we can debate the solutions to crime, but short term, in my judgment, we have to do three things. Number one: We've got to hire more cops.”
“Number two: We're going to have to stop the retirements among our police officers. They're retiring in droves.”
“The third thing we need to do to get control of crime [won't] cost any money, but it may be the most difficult of all three of the things we have to do. We have to improve the morale of our cops, and that starts with our elected officials.
“But I think that if you talk to most moms and dad in this country, and ask them what are they worried about when they lie down to sleep at night and can’t, I don’t think they’re worried about proper pronoun usage. I don’t think they’re worried about the president’s war against oil production in America. I think they’re more worried about their job and the economy and inflation, and I think they’re worried about crime.”
“And you’re not going to get control of crime until you keep the cops you have, you add more cops and you stand behind your cops when they’re right, which is 99.9 percent of the time. And folks, that doesn’t cost money.
“…We have sent a breathtaking amount of money to state and local government. I mean, they’ve got more money now than they’ve ever had in their entire histories, adjusted for inflation. They’ve got the money to do this.”

About EISA: Introduced in Senate (02/28/2022) This bill addresses U.S. energy independence, the production and importation of oil and natural gas, and the rescission of specified environmental requirements. Specifically, the bill directs the President to develop a plan for the United States to achieve energy independence by 2024.
Defending Election Integrity, AG Jeff Landry Calls for Repeal of Biden Executive Order
BATON ROUGE, LA – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is leading a 13-state coalition calling for Joe Biden to rescind his Executive Order 14019 which authorizes the executive branch to utilize all federal executive agencies’ power, resources, and reach to carry out voter registration and voter mobilization activities. The coalition’s opposition is based in law, noting that the U.S. Constitution does not provide this power to the executive branch and arguing that this responsibility falls on state legislatures.
“The government’s job is to provide an equal opportunity for all eligible citizens to exercise their right to vote, ensure that every legal vote is counted, and keep the process transparent and secure,” said Attorney General Landry. “It is not the government’s job to entice people to vote.”
In their letter to the President, Attorney General Landry and his colleagues explain that regulating the registration process has been a state legislative function and that Biden’s plan attempts to grant political appointees who lead the hundreds of federal agencies with offices across the country the power to intervene in elections in unprecedented ways.
What’s more: the letter highlights the real concern of third-party organizations improperly injecting themselves into the election process by using Biden’s Executive Order to circumvent state election laws. These federally-backed third party-organizations may create the appearance of corruption, thus undermining the integrity and public trust in elections.
Attorney General Landry, who fought successfully against this in the 2020 election cycle when the Center for Tech and Civil Life tried to inject private funds into the Louisiana election system, added: “Perhaps the most troubling aspect of the Executive Order is its command for federal agencies to support ‘approved’ third-party organizations as they conduct voter registration efforts by allowing them to do so on federal agency premises in states across the country.”
“The Executive Order provides no details as to which groups will be approved, who will approve them, and what criteria will be used for approval,” continued Attorney General Landry. “Obviously, there is a legitimate concern that only those groups aligned with the political party of the current administration, Joe Biden’s political party, will receive approval and be granted this unprecedented support and access.”
“The Executive Order appears to create a get-out-the-vote campaign that benefits one party over the other,” concluded Attorney General Landry. “I am proud to stand with my fellow attorneys general for election integrity and against this unethical, illegal, and unconstitutional Executive Order. We must protect our election system to ensure fair and transparent elections, untainted by undue influence.”
Joining Attorney General Landry in the letter are the attorneys general from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah.

LOUISIANA FAMILY FORUM: Louisiana Lifts Vaccine Mandate for Students
In a win for religious liberty and medical freedom, the Louisiana Department of Health has finally repealed the COVID-19 shot mandate for students.
Some made the personal decision to take the COVID-19 shot and that’s their prerogative, but others have concerns about vaccine connections to aborted fetal tissue and the vaccine response, particularly myocarditis in young men.
There is no longer a COVID vaccine mandate for children to attend school in Louisiana!
Attorney General Jeff Landry and others have fought unjust mandates for a year now.
Landry issued this statement:

Fighting For American Energy And State Sovereignty, Attorney General Jeff Landry Leads Opposition To “Permitting-Reform” Bill
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry leads 18 state coalition in critical letter to Senate Leadership
BATON ROUGE, LA – Citing economic, legal, and procedural issues – Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is leading a coalition of 18 states in vocal opposition to the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2022. The state chief legal officers slammed the proposed legislation by U.S. Senator Joe Manchin as a back-door attempt to impose the failed Clean Power Plan.
“The Biden Administration and its allies in Congress are attempting to not only force unreliable renewables on hard-working Americans, but also turn those consumers into bigger pawns of the green energy industry,” said Attorney General Landry. “The DC elites, in a rushed process, want to restrict the electric power grid by repealing the traditional authority of the states to regulate their own resources and utility policies.”
In their letter to Senate Leadership, Attorney General Landry and his colleagues explain how Manchin’s dangerous proposal contains three interrelated provisions that, particularly when taken together, eviscerate states’ ability to chart their own land-use and energy policies.
“First, it would authorize private companies to use eminent domain against state land. Second, it would authorize FERC to command utilities to construct entirely new transmission facilities whenever and wherever FERC deems necessary. And third, it would authorize companies to spread costs of constructing new transmission facilities onto residents of other states, requiring citizens of one state to subsidize the agenda of citizens in other states,” wrote the attorneys general. “These provisions eviscerate state sovereign authority, commandeer companies to carry out the will of a three-vote majority of FERC Commissioners, undermine the power of each citizens’ vote to decide policies at the state level, and inevitably force the citizens of our states to subsidize the costs of expensive energy policy preferences of California and New York.”
They also added that the measure – which is expected to be taken up without committee hearings or great public input – is an attack on federalism, providing broad new authority to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) that could unravel traditional authority between the states and the federal government.
“We have spent nearly a decade defending our states against the overreaching and illegal Clean Power Plan – eventually winning at the U.S. Supreme Court; this new Act seeks to undo that work,” explained Attorney General Landry. “Allowing private companies to use eminent domain and pass costs to residents does not equate to independence or security; just more profits off the backs of working families.”
Joining Attorney General Landry in the letter are the attorneys general from Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

It’s finally September, and that means we are about to hit the fourth quarter of our midterm election season. Labor Day marks the traditional beginning of the period when it actually matters what candidates do and say. Everyone is paying attention now and every news cycle counts. For months, the "experts" in Washington, D.C., predicted a red wave for Republicans in November but now the very same "experts" are having second thoughts.
In March, the Wall Street Journal’s generic ballot poll – conducted by Trump pollster and my friend Tony Fabrizio – showed Republicans ahead five points. Last week, the same poll had Democrats up three. A staggering political shift in just six months.
Let me be clear. President Joe Biden is NOT responsible for his party’s shifting fortunes. The midterms are no longer a referendum on his thin record. Instead, we now have a choice election with a GOP brand that has seen much better days.

Jeff Landry steps into legal fight over Trump's handling of top secret documents found at Mar-a-Lago
Attorney General Jeff Landry has stepped into Donald Trump’s legal fight with the Biden administration over Trump’s handling of classified documents after leaving office.
Landry signed on to a friend-of-the-court brief filed Tuesday by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Florida, which is handling the legal dispute. The court is considering whether the Justice Department should be able to resume a criminal investigation into classified documents seized last month at Trump’s private Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago, or whether a special master should review the thousands of documents first.

Tuesday night’s Legislative Awards Gala was certainly an evening to remember! As we opened the interview with AG Lynn Fitch and Solicitor General Stewart (click here to watch; this portion begins around the 1:12:00 mark), they each make compelling confessions which sent chills throughout the room!
“I think there’s something magical in boldness, and standing up for the right thing in the right way,” said Stewart. And when the Attorney General first spoke, she said:
“First, I have to say to each of you, we could not have done what we did without your prayers and support. We felt the compassion, the love, the empowerment every single day as we got prepared for Scott to make the argument as the brief was being written. Everything revolved around our being uplifted by you.”
If that doesn’t confirm our purpose in Team LFF’s mission, then I don’t know what will!
