LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thanks to Sen. Cassidy for Supporting the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act

Dear Editor,

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to Senator Cassidy for his dedicated efforts to improve healthcare in our nation. The introduction of the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act (TROA) is a commendable step forward in addressing the issue of obesity in our country.

If the TROA becomes law, it could lead to positive changes in our healthcare policy. By passing this bill, Congress would update old rules that currently prevent Medicare from covering specific treatments for obesity. Additionally, it would make it easier for individuals to access therapy aimed at helping with obesity. This bill has the potential to contribute significantly to our fight against obesity, ultimately enhancing the quality of life for many Americans. Moreover, it has the capacity to improve the overall functioning of our healthcare system.

Senator Cassidy's support for the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act is huge for this effort. As a doctor and the top republican on the Senate HELP committee, he has a chance to bring this bill to the forefront of Congressional attention. 

TROA has the potential to make a substantial difference in the lives of countless Americans who are grappling with obesity. By not only improving access to healthcare but also potentially preventing avoidable deaths and promoting better well-being, this legislation represents a positive step forward.

Thank you again to Senator Cassidy for his commitment to addressing this crucial issue. Should the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act come to fruition, it holds the promise of positively impacting families and individuals on a wide scale. Alethea Torrellas Shapiro had been using her children regularly to harass senators, such as Sen. Bill Cassidy, on Capitol Hill. According to the Daily Caller, Shapiro is “an activist who calls extremist feminist activist Linda Sarsour her hero and regularly goes on profanity-laced tirades against GOP senators like Chuck Grassley.”

TIME TO BUILD THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE

Dear Friend, 

We’ve been working to pass the Keystone XL Pipeline for four years. It would obviously create good-paying jobs and increase our energy independence. It’s a no-brainer. 

But thanks to a President committed to undermining domestic energy production and major energy projects, it hasn’t been able to get approved. President Obama and Democrats in Congress just keep kicking the can down the road. 

But, we’re finally moving a step forward. The House of Representatives passed legislation written by Dr. Bill Cassidy to finally approve the Keystone Pipeline. 

There is no other single project that has the same positive jobs benefit, the same positive energy security benefit, and five clean environmental impact statements. It has broad-based support, reflecting the majority of Americans understanding that Washington needs to stop getting in the way of our economic recovery. 

It’s long past time to approve the Keystone XL pipeline. I’ve worked with colleagues in the Senate since 2011 to push this forward, and I’ll continue to fight until it’s complete.

BEN CARSON TO CAMPAIGN FOR BILL CASSIDY AT TEA PARTY RALLY SATURDAY

For the ones that continually castigate Bill Cassidy for not being “Tea-Party enough”, please explain to me why one of the strongest liberty advocates is coming to Louisiana to help out? Do what’s best for Louisiana at this point in history and vote for Cassidy.

Carson joins the list of several nationally prominent political figures making campaign stops in Louisiana as candidates make their final pushes before Election Day on Nov. 4.

Former Republican presidential nominee and U.S. Sen. John McCain has also recently visited the state to campaign for Cassidy.
